Ok, so looks like I got one of the last Nth TT's (quite happy about this actually!) Everything's there except the dimpling tool. My understanding is that it's a couple of inches or so long x 1" pipe that was cut in half.

Yea, yea... I know this may seem stupid  but if some has their dimpling tool left from their Nth TT install, could you post a pic so I can attempt to make one from scratch? (I may use something else to dimple the tub - but I'd like to at least have a good pic as to what Nth came up with before I break out the thinkin' cap on "reinventing the wheel".)

If you found something easier to use than the tool that came with the TT, can you let me know what you used? I don't want to go nuts - just something simple to get the job done.

I don't have an Nth TT but I dippled the body with a peice of 3/4" pipe cut in half. Just as a note: I measured the distance from the frame to the TC so that I knew that I dimpled the right spot. Actually I dimpled the wrong spot first then the right spot.

The dimple tool that came with mine was only 2" long. After using the half pipe I took my Craftsman ratchet handle(the one that has sort of flat sides on it) and layed it in place and jacked everything up so that I would have a nice long smooth dimple. If you take your time and work with it the dimple will come out real nice, mine looks as though it was done at the factory. Should you be short on those funny lookn bolts, Fastenal is where Chris was getting them for the tuck. Before you tighten everything up check your drain plug for clearance access should you need to drain the tranny at a later date. I had to trim the front edge of the skid just a tad as others have had to do the same.

I didn't get one with mine either. I found it easier to use a 1 1/8" impact wrench socket on top pf the t-case, I dimpled about 3 spots. I have enough room to fit my hand on top of the t-case now and I've never had an issue with it.

You can kind of see it here... It's a tough spot to take a picture of...
